What Causes Painful Bumps Under The Skin Of Anus?

i have what appears to be small pus bumps just under the skin on my anus. they are in what appears to be pockets and up into the first area of my rectum. they are painful , however if it breaks open a thick pus comes out. what could this be? can i sit in some kind of bath ???
