What Causes Painful Buttocks In A Child After Giving Enema?

Yesterday I had to give my 3 year daughter an enema. It was very traumatic for her and she fought very hard against it as I was trying to give it to her. She had a bowel movement afterwards but Is complaining her bum hurts a lot today.
Is this normal or have I hurt her?
