What Causes Painful Growth In The Ear?

the question a lady had for you about a hard painless growth in ear was exactly the problem I had, except that the thing in my ear softens and becomes painful after touching with a currette. When it began, it was very large and could scrape it with no pain. The blood and clear drainage is gone now but the mass surfaces now and then. How can something hard as a brick soften so fast now? Is there any way I can contact the lady to see how her case turned out? The ear doctor accused me of picking at my ears and causing this but the only reason I used a currette was to see what was plugging my ear up. For 3 days, it was blood, then one day I awoke to a sticky clear fluid running from my ear and had crusted all the way to my neck. I'm baffled because the doctor couldn't see anything.
