What Causes Painful Intercourse And Bleeding After Repairing A Vaginal Prolapse?

I had a cone biopsy a month ago with a slight repair. Doctor said because of a prolapse, she cut some vaginal tissue and had to do the repair. I had sexual intercourse with my husband tonight. it was painfu (achy) and I had slight bleeding afterwords. Is this normal? Will sex always be painful for now on?
