What Causes Painful Lump At The Base Of The Skull And Headaches?

My name is Virginia Brown and I have spinal decay in phase 3 for 10 years now...recently I have severe pain in the right side of my neck...it is very swollen and I now have a knot that has appeared close to the base of my skull..I can t hardly turn my head...I m also having severe headaches as well since this started....help please
