What Causes Painful Lump On Arm?

I noticed a lump about the size of a pea about a week ago. Its gotten bigger over the week and very painful when I try to raise my arm. Its very warm to touch and one side of the lump hurts badly. I ve got flu like symptoms as well. Am I ill or is it sth to bother myself about? What could it be
