What Causes Painful Lump On The Areola?

hi, I am 23 and for the 3past months, I had a lump like under my left nipple..it was very painful and hot. it disappeared for a few weeks but now I have it again and it is bigger, hotter and harder, with more pain..my breast has gone all red and very sensitive making it difficult to even keep my bra on. please help
