What Causes Painful Lumps In Front And Back Of Ear Lobes?

I have a painful lump in front of my right earlobe and also behind my right ear. I am used to lymph node issues that I have dealt with my whole life but they always hurt in my neck when I'm getting sick. This is a different feeling area and pain. I have also been having very severe equilibrium issues that started this past summer and have gotten worst. I do not have them all of the time but had a very bad bout a couple of days before Christmas, present with terrible nausea and vomiting. It took me several days to get over the worst part and gradually came on for about 2 weeks before the worst part of the episode.
