What Causes Painful Scabs On Scalp?

I washed my hair with dettol because it said you could wash your scalp with it and it has caused alot of pain and irritation. I have painful water, blood or pus filled painful boils in my scalp. and very thick painful scabs have developed. What is wrong with my scalp and what should i do?
