What Causes Painful Sore Throat And Coughing While Having Laryngitis?

I had laryngitis for a few days and now have a sore throat that hurts only in the evening. I also have some congestion and minor coughing. I do not feel particularly bad....but wondered at what point should I be concerned if the sore throat lingers. Thank you
