What Causes Painful Spots On Penis Head?

hello ive developed two none painfull spots on the head of my penis both around the rim one is slightly a darker red. They have been there for around a month and one seems to be going away the other seems to be getting redder. I noticed one seemed to shed a piece of dry skin almost and that was it...i havnt been sexually active in 6 months can you help?
