What Causes Painful Swelling Of Lymph Node On One Side Of The Throat?

Hi, For 3 days I've been experiencing a swollen gland on one side of my throat. I do not have a sore throat or a cold. When I tilt my head up it is very noticeable. It feels like a lump on the side of my throat but not in my throat. It is painful but not severely painful.
