What Causes Pale Patches In The Throat?

hello. I have a pale patch (light pink/whiteish) behind my left tonsil on the inside of my throat. It isn t painful, at most it just feels a little dry. It can only be seen when I open my mouth fairly wide. I noticed it about a week ago and went to my urgent care to have it checked out. They just did a quick visual, asked some questions, and didn t have a whole lot of feedback except that it doesnt look infected or appear to be strep throat. They gave me a corticosteriod to help with some slight swelling of my tonsils, which isn t really an issue, I m just prone to tonsil stones. I am still extremely worried about this patch of white skin, though! It has been a few days and no improvement. I scratched the inside of my throat eating like 2 weeks ago, but i think that was long enough ago that I can rule it out as a cause. I am making myself sick with worry :( Is it at all normal for there to be some discoloration of that area??
