What Causes Palpitation, Headaches And Tenderness On The Base Of Skull?

hi, been very stressed lately, with things out of my control. also been going overboard when out and somewhat manic sometimes. been having palpitations, very bad headaches (think i am hyper sensitive to smells), always have a bad back and now have a very tender area on the base of my skull around to the right. when massaged it gives quite a sharp pain through my head. are these things related ?
