What Causes Patch And Dryness On The Skin After Using Hair Removal Cream?

Hello, I had some growth of hairs on my chest/breast area and I decided to use Nair/Veet to remove them because it left it sooo smooth. The after result was that it left my chest looking dry and patchy(almost like it could've been burned). What can I used to smooth out the skin to reduce the scaly skin?
