What Causes Peeling Of Skin Around Eyes,ears And Cheeks?

Hello....My 3 year old daughter has been sick for about a week, she wasnt eating or drinking much at all...now that she is getting better, this morning i noticed skin peeling around her eyes, ears and cheeks....I was just wondering if you can tell me what causes that to happen?
