What Causes Penis Shaft Swelling With Residual Bruising After Intercourse?

Im 19 years old. I was having sex with my girlfriend and once i came, all of a sudden the shaft beneath the head of my penis began to swell up. After a while the swelling began to go down but now a large purple/black bruise has appeared. Is there anything serious for me to worry about?
