What Causes Period Like Abdominal Cramps After A Child Birth?

I gave birth to 7 months old son and have not stopped breastfeeding. I nursed every 3 hours. I have been experiencing menstrual-like cramping the last 2 days. I haven't had my period yet. Could this be my period? It feels different from when my uterine contrasts.
