What Causes Periods A Week After Taking Logynon Pill?

I was on antibiotics and was told to continue on with a new pack of logynon straight away (don't leave 7 day gap). However I got my period a week later whilst continuing on - should this have happened. I thought when you continue on a pack straight away that you don't get a period
