What Causes Persistent Bleeding And Pain In Abdomen After An Abortion?

I recently had an abortion (17 days ago) I am still bleeding daily and it doesn't seem to be slowing down at all. I've been having pains around my fallopian tubes and my ovaries area, I have been to the doctors about this and they have done nothing. Could you please give me some reassurance that everything is okay?
