What Causes Persistent Cough Along With Chest Congestion?

Hello, I ve been having flu like symptoms (head and body aches, easily tired, dry throat, hot and cold extremes...) for about three days and my asthma is making it difficult to breathe properly. I have a lot of congestion on my chest as well, I m coughing some up but there s always more that doesn t come up. I m wondering if you have any suggestions on when/how often to take my ventolin (I also have Advair), or if maybe I should go to the ER to see if there s a chest infection.
