What Causes Persistent Hemorrhoids?

Had a colonoscopy on 01/26/2015 afterwards had hemrroids which I ve nver had before. And I m 53 years old and this is my 3rd or 4th time having a colonoscopy due to my father and 2 of his brothers dying of colon cancer. My doctor who did the procedure didn t evev advise me on how to handle my hemrroids, I had to all my family physician to help me. My question is to this day. My hemrroids still haven t COMPLETELY healed. So should I go back to family physician or should I just go to a specialist figure my next move. Or is there something I can do to get them completely healed outside of having surgery?
