What Causes Persistent Hiccups Along With Sore Throat And Cough?

My husband has a cough that started with a sore throat 4 days ago. He keeps getting the hiccups. He has had them for the last 2days and has a very hard time getting rid of them. His chest hurts when he coughs. He is 65 years old and has Parkinson's disease. Should We be concerned and see a Dr or wait this out? How can he get rid of the hiccups for good?
