What Causes Persistent Pain In Back Post Posterior Spinal Surgery?

I am 6 weeks post op from having (back) anterior poterior surgery lumbar fusions (2) with iiliac bone graft screws and metal I was cut down the stomach and down the spine. I am still in so much pain, some times more han I was in prior to having surgery, what is the normal recovery time
