What Causes Persistent Red Patches On The Chin?

I have two spots on my chin that are red, kind of patchy, don't itch, but also won't go away. I tried changing toothpaste, shampoo, facial wash, and tried treating it with acquaphor, rose hip oil, hydrocortisone all to no avail. It gets a little better, but always comes back. Now I wonder if it is because I have been drinking a large iced espresso coffee every morning.
