What Causes Persistent Vaginal Discharge Post Hysterectomy?

Hi, my mother underwent vaginal hysterectomy and 1 month post-op, her discharges became more frequent and foul-smelling. She has been treated with vaginal suppository (antibiotic). The smell lessened a bit but discharge is still present and seemt o not improve. She was given ciprofloxacin, but after a week, discharges are still present. The doctor added flagyl to her medications. She is on her 5th day of flagyl and 13th day of ciprofloxacin, but improvement is very minimal. What could be causing this? Is this normal? Thank you
