What Causes Persisting Headache After A Head Injury?

i recently fell down after getting a piercing and hit my head pretty hard ive had a headache that cant go away and light bugs me i also get dizzy if i move to fast or even am sitting my doctor wants a ct scan but hasnt booked it yet i think its a concussion should i take time off work until symptoms are gone away?
