What Causes Pimple Like Bumps Inside Labia?

I have approximately 20 pimple like bumps just inside both of my labia. I was told by my primary care doctor to see a gynecologist (for another issue) and I asked the gyn about the bumps. He told me that he could take care of a few "clogged pores" but not that large a quantity. He recommended that I see a dermatologist. How is this treated? And is this something a dermatologist takes care of?
