What Causes Pimple Like Sores Around The Anus?

I had frequent soft bowel movements for several days and had a sore anus. Thought it was a hemmroid, but continues to get very sore. When I checked more, I discovered I had a number of pimple like sores, some open in a circular pattern near my anus. What could this be and how should i treat it at home. I presently wash gently 3 times a day and have put bactrobain cream on.
