What Causes Pimple On Neck With Puss?

Hi , I had a small pimple on my neck area. when i tried to pop it, there was a black substance coming out along with the puss. This black substance was long and had strands, like how you see in hairs. It was like about size of a grain. dnt know what it is about..Any idea?
