What Causes Pin Prick Bumps In Legs While Running?

My daughter, 15, comes home after running for a short distance with her legs stinging , as she describes. Her quads, only, are red and covered with small pinprick bumps. I have had her repeat her running to see if it s isolated, but happens when ever she runs. Why does this happen? Thank you...
