What Causes Pink And Brown Vaginal Spotting?

I started spotting on the 18th day of my cycle. The first 4 days were just pink and brown when I wiped and on the 5 day started to bleed but not bad. My period usually starts between days 25 to 28 and is very heavy and I have bad periods with lots of pain but no pain this time.
