What Causes Pinkish Color Menstrual Bleeding?

Hi, I ve come on my period this morning after my last one started 6 weeks and 1 day ago. I normally have quite heavy periods with bright red blood but I seem to be really light this time with a pinkish colour blood. This is the longest I ve been with gaps between my period as my last one was 5 weeks and 2 days. Could there be a simple explanation for my blood being like this and it taking so long for my period to come this time? Many thanks Sandra.
