What Causes Popping Sound In Bone Joints?

Hi! I have this strange thing going on with my joints. From time to time it makes a popping sound specially when I make a sudden stretching movement. Particularly on my knees and elbows. It's not hurting anyway. Just sound but I feel nothing actually.
