What Causes Presence Of Protein In Urine?

I am a diabetic an djust 2 days ago I was told I had protein in my urin and it was at 23. my doctor raised my lipator from 5mg to 10 mg. my A1C was 6.2 which is not bad and I am on an insulin pump and have been for 6 years. It is something I am not doing right in my eating for the protein to go up more?
