What Causes Pressure In Ears?

I have major ear pressure with the feeling of my head is going to explode from the pressure. I just came from the docs and he said u have some pus and an inflamed ear and gave me some anti-boitics but i feel like it could be more than just a small ear infection. Could it be a middle ear infection or Mastoiditis ?
