What Causes Prickly Feeling And Sharp Pain In Pubic Area?

i have a prickly uncomfortable feeling in my pubic area, sometimes sharp pains too, i have had a swab and it came back clear. I have now been given antibiotics as my doctor thought it might be a hair follicle infection, but they are not helping, any ideas??
