What Causes Prolonged Menstrual Bleeding?

Hi, I m 39 years old and just became sexually active again after 2 years of abstaining. WIthin 5 days, I got my period and it has now lasted 9 days. It doesn t seem to be subsiding, and I m concerned I may have gotten gonorrhea from what I ve read. My ob/gyn can t see me for two weeks. Should I go urgently to another doctor or can it wait?
