What Causes Prolonged Menstruation Inspite Of Taking Birth Control Pill?

Hi doctor, I am 42 years old female I am having prolonged menstrual bleeding. I started taking birth control pill but I am having spotting or light bleeding almost everyday since I have started birth control pill. Is there any solution for my problem?
