What Causes Prolonged Periods Along With Severe Pain In Abdomen?

I was put on Depo-Provera to stop the extreme pain of what s been loosely diagnosed as endometriosis. However, my period did not completely stop and the pain certainly did not go away. It did decrease the pain. Should I continue with this treatment or look further into my symptoms? Thanks.
