What Causes Protruding Pain In Tailbone?

What causes funny bone like pain in lower back/tailbone region? I put my back out 10 days ago. Three sessions with osteopath have been great but nagging nerve-like ache continues to dibilitate me. Can t sit or stand for more than 30 minutes without pain and compression of spine/hip area.
