What Causes Purple Bruise Marks On Skin?

in 2007 I had multiple sexual contacts with the same person that is hiv positive. i'v noticed over the years purple bruise marks appearing on my skin, say side of my back. I am african american. Does this mean I am hiv positive. i've tested negative several times for hiv since the sexual contact in 2007 that stopped in 2007.
