What Causes Purplish Mottles Skin On Upper Arms?

Last night I was cold and noticed purplish mottled skin on my upper arm. Is this normal? I have recently been diagnosed with FM after being tested for lupus, RA, and Sjorens. The rheumatology dr told me I did not need to follow up unless there were new symptoms.... Is this something I should report?
