What Causes Puss Discharge From The Incision Area After C Section?

my wife had a cesarean operation 45 days ago. We have found the operated are is completely healed. But yesterday for our surprise the operated area is having a small opening and we found some bad liquid or puss inside. Is it possible after 45 days of operation the heeled flush can open ? If yes. what could be the reason ?
