What Causes Radiating Pain From Ankle To Calf?

i am having terrible pain at the back of calf, sometimes it is around the right ankle, osteopath seems to think it is a trapped nerve, but i was told by another doctor that trapped nerves go from back down the leg, mime seems to start at ankle and move up sometimes my calf stings with pain. thanks
