What Causes Raised And Sore Bumps On Fingers?

I have two bumps on my fingers. ring finger left hand, at the top most join. the other one is on index finger right hand, top most joint. They look similar to a water blister/bump, due to what looks like a water spot in the middle. They maybe a quarter inch dia. with a slight raise. sore and a little red. they do not look like a wart, not crusty, not big enough to be ring worm. any ideas what it might be, or where I can search online for pictures?
