What Causes Random Blotchy Bruising On Legs?

I get a lot of random blotchy beuising on my legs, its not specific spots or a specific leg or anything, they come and go, sometimes they are very dark purple and have white centers, most times its light purples and fades to yellows and browns.. my family has history of lacking iron in the blood. Wondering what i should do(
