What Causes Rapid Rise In Heart Rate And Throbbing Sensation In Throat?

I just woke up and did a 5 minute meditation then I got up to hang up my jumper and my heart started beating really fast about 90bpm was my pulse it lasted maybe a minute or two I could feel it throbbing in my throat. This has never happened before! It felt like it would if I was running really fast.My dad has this problem, he has hypertension.What does it mean?
