What Causes Rash On The Incision Site Of Knee Replacement?

My mom had a total knee replacement. And where the incision was made. She has broken out in a rash. She started noticing the rash 4 weeks after surgery. And after the bandage was remove. I dont know wether she infected it the rehabilitation place or what. She schedule to see a skin doctor.
