What Causes Rashes On Buttocks?

i have a rash the appeared on my buttocks yesterday, where my leg meets, it is sore when i sit on it, it is a bunch of circles, like mosquito bites, that are red and puffy, not sure if this is a reaction to something? what an odd place to appear? it is the size of say 2 twoonies.
